Office Hours: Fridays 10-12 @ Prairie Lights
First drafts for your pieces are due on Friday (2/15)
If you submitted a pitch or an outline of a piece for print, we will expect a more fully rendered draft by tomorrow (Friday the 15th) at midnight via email. If you already submitted a fuller draft to us that you don't really have anything else to do with yet, you do not need to submit another draft.
Over the weekend and into next week we'll be sending out emails with some suggestions or critiques for your piece. After we send those emails, try and work in those suggestions and then submit another draft on Friday the 22nd.
*If these are confusing, this is the time to visit office hours or email us to set up a one-on-one meeting time so that we can help you because Fools is our baby and we care about you guys and your thoughts on paper!!*
The following Friday (March 1st) will be final draft deadline for print. If this doesn't make sense, please ask questions in the comments or via email!
FOR VISUAL TEAM (ILLUSTRATORS & PHOTOGRAPHERS)
Visual team, please contact Vivian or Chosie if you have any questions
email@example.com / design@firstname.lastname@example.org
Office Hours: Mondays 6 PM @ Poindexter Coffee
First drafts will be due next week (2/20)
For last meeting, visual artists were paired up with writers to create work that will supplement a written piece. If you were assigned a written piece to collaborate on, please come to this upcoming meeting (week 6) with sample images, an outline, or sketch of what you will create. We need in detail, your vision for the piece in order to get an idea of what we will be working with.
For week 7 (2/27), the first draft of your work will be due and we will collect the works for critique.
Once you receive your critique on week 7, you will have until week 8 (3/6) until the final work is due.
Pieces that still need illustrations or photos!
We were not able to get through everyone’s writing last meeting, so please look through this file and sign up for a piece that you are interested in illustrating or photographing. Just like it is explained above, please come with sketches and outlines for next meeting if you do decide to sign up for a piece.
Artists who already have signed up for a piece, you are welcome to take another, but please be conscious of your workload!
follow the link below > click the ‘need visual’ tab > type your name into the ‘visual sign up here’ next to the piece you would like to illustrate/photograph for > fill in your contact info > finally, please send an email to email@example.com to notify editors
Questions?? Come to Office Hours!
If you have any questions or want to bounce around ideas with us, the visual editors will be available on Monday at Poindexter Coffee at 6 PM to meet with you. Please feel free to come by to talk about your ideas, your work, etc. You are also more than welcome to grab a chair and work next to us!

If you happen to have any financial issues and cannot pay dues, please contact email@example.com. We want everyone to be able to contribute to Fools Mag.
